Where's the most romantic destination for couples?
Price not an option. Can be anywhere in the world -- looking to find true romantic getaway -- not some corny place with cheezy trappings. Looking for somewhere that is couples only -- meaning no kids allowed to blow the mood or make the elevator stop at every floor. Know of somewhere special?

Hello Pam
Houseboat in Kerala
Or if you succumb to the charms of Puccini, maestro of romance (and tragedy), spend some time in the Glover Gardens overlooking Nagasaki harbour. 'Madama Butterfly' will be standing right beside you!
Venice is for lovers
Orient Express?
Muscat, Oman
Try pretty much any Taj hotel
But I agree with Tamila. Perhaps 'romantic' is more about time and mood than it is about destination.

Define romantic: some find the isolated peak of a mountain to be romantic, some claim that New York City is romantic, yet some prefer a Scottish castle….People are funny animals, and while there is a somewhat known claim that we’re all made after the almighty’s form, we are truly unique.

The bedroom (unless it is full of cheezy trappings). Send the kids to their friends or relatives. Soft music, light some candles, make some gourmet snacks. Talk, explore... rediscover each other without any other distractions... for the whole night.

I miss just driving around. When we were young we would spend Sunday afternoons driving around looking at houses and just exploring.

The Hawaiian Island of Kauai is a very special place for couples. As the most undeveloped island of Hawaii, Kauai is a delight due to its natural beauty. Kauai offers soaring peaks and rugged lush terrain. Kauai also has one of the best beaches in the world, Poipu Beach on the south side of the island. Kauai is often sited as the favorite island of natives of Hawaii and for good reason.
Most of the properties on Kauai are condos and timeshares, which I think enhances the feeling of privacy and the exclusivity of the experience. There are fabulous dining opportunities and gorgeous sunsets.
Kauai is known for the "shaka spirit" which is means roughly "hang loose" or a laid back spirit. Kauai is a great place to connect or re-connect to your partner and focus almost exclusively on each other without the commercial distractions of daily life or other resort destinations. It is a place to commune both with nature and your partner in one of the most beautiful settings in the world.
